A three-month Tourist Visa for Australians for example is currently priced at ~US$ 50 and is valid for three months.

It is recommended that you get your visa BEFORE you arrive into Tanzania as the visa application lines can be long and it can take up to 3 hours.

When applying for your Tanzanian visa, the above website will ask you for some information. We hope below will assist you.

Let us know of any other question you find at the immigration website which is confusing so we can update this section (as the website changes from time to time)

Once you open the visa website click Visa Application and then New Application

Once you have put in your passport information, the system will give you an Application ID number. Save it.

After putting in your passport and personal information, you will move to the page where you have to input information for your visa.

NB: If you are worried about the visa not coming out as you had paid for your visa some weeks back, send a copy of your passport and visa Application ID etc so we can follow up with immigration for you here in Tanzania.

Kenya:

As of Jan 2024, visitors to Kenya now need an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA). This has replaced the old visitor visa system.  You can apply for your Kenyan Eta at www.etakenya.go.ke

Currently its ~$34 USD.

Note that if you are driving from Nairobi to Arusha over the road border, the name of the border town you need to put into the ETA is Namanga.

Processing time is at least 3 business days but I suggest applying for it as soon as your plans are confirmed.

It is mandatory that you have your Kenyan ETA BEFORE arriving into Kenya.
