Victoria Falls Package
After breakfast on the 2nd of June, you will be picked up and driven to Zanzibar Airport for your flight to either Livingstone Airport in Zambia or Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe (international flight details to be confirmed by client). Breakfast provided.
Your international agent can advise you on the best flight/s to get you from Mt Kilimanjaro International Airport to either Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe or Livingstone Airport in Zambia.
Assuming you will arrive into either Victoria Falls or Livingstone on 28th May, you will be picked up and transferred to Azambezi River Lodge where you will be booked in on B&B basis.
Your guide will then meet you afterward to take you on a Sundowner Cruise down the Zambezi River. There is no better way to end the day than to watch an African Sun slip down the horizon, while sipping drinks and enjoying light snacks. Birds, hippos and crocodiles are abounding in their natural habitat.
This morning your tour kicks off with the “Big Tree” which is an ancient Baobab some 16 meters in girth. You will then continue with a tour and explanation of the geology of the Victoria Falls as you walk from Livingstone View to the Devil’s Cataract, and on to the Main Falls. You will also pass Rainbow Falls and reach Danger Point. As you walk the full length of the Falls through the Rainforest, you may be able to catch a glimpse of bushbuck and other wildlife.
Afterwards, enjoy the “The Feast of Beasts” excursion. The first part of the activity is a truly one-of-a-kind lion feeding experience that we have affectionately named, “The Feast of Beasts” encounter. We all know the reputation lions have when it comes to feeding, and this is no different with these lions. What started as an enrichment exercise has now become an incredibly unique opportunity to see a side of lions not commonly seen, and from an eye level perspective.
The second part of the activity is an opportunity to be immersed into the life of a lion pride. Take a scenic drive through a 25 acre enclosure strategically placed within a teak forest housing a pride of 5 lions. From the safety of a secure safari vehicle, enjoy guaranteed sightings of the pride, with incredible photo opportunities as they go about their daily lion lives.
For dinner, enjoy a Boma Dinner. Overnight again at Azambezi River Lodge (on B&B basis)
Breakfast and dinner provided.
After an early breakfast, you will be taken on a Chobe National Park Day Trip
The Caprivi Strip, just 70kms west of Victoria Falls is a very interesting area. Not only does the Zambezi River form the borders of 4 countries here (Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia and Zambia) but this is also the location of one of Africa’s finest natural game reserves – the Chobe National Park. The added presence of the equally intriguing Chobe River (in one season the water flows downstream and in the other it flows upstream) brings a myriad of game and rare bird species to this natural wilderness. The Park boasts the Big Five and the river teems with hippos and crocodiles which can be viewed both from boats and safari vehicles. After an hour’s drive through the Zambezi National Park, quick border formalities are carried out into Botswana before proceeding into Botswana.
In the early afternoon, lunch will be served at the Chobe Safari Lodge by the swimming pool overlooking the Chobe River.
After lunch, it will be time to go on a river cruise. Overnight again at Azambezi River Lodge (on B&B basis)
Breakfast and lunch provided
Optional activity: Wake up early for an Elephant ride. Afterwards come back to the hotel for a shower and change of clothes before heading off to the airport for your flight back home (international flight details to be confirmed by client)
