Orkeeswa Secondary School is nestled in the foothills of the Monduli Mountains in Lashaine Village, about one hour from the city of Arusha. Orkeeswa is a day school and the only secondary school in the village serving the predominantly Maasai population of the area.
During your visit to Orkeeswa, you will see first hand the studentsʼ experience at this rigorous, private, community-centered school as well as their lives at home in their thatched bomas. You will have the opportunity to go on a student-led school tour, have a meal with the students and participate in school activities before going on your home visit.
Visitors whose itinerary includes a Thursday or Sunday trip to Orkeeswa can also shop at the local market in nearby Monduli.
For overnight guests, accommodation can be arranged at a comfortable, modest guest house in Monduli, where many of Orkeeswa’s teachers and volunteers call home. Meals can be arranged through Safaris-R-Us or through the school, as per your request. Half, full and two-day visits may also be arranged.
