Ndutu Safari Lodge

Ndutu Safari Lodge

Ndutu Safari Lodge is located in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area just outside the south-eastern corner of Serengeti National Park. The lodge’s 34 stone cottage rooms are surrounded by brilliant flat-topped acacias, exotic birds, elephants in the yard, and zebras in the marsh… with each cottage’s verandah facing out over glistening Lake Ndutu.  All rooms are clean, contain beautiful en-suite bathrooms, and are constructed from local materials. The lodge is very eco-friendly by utilizing resources such as rainwater and minimizing electric power consumption.  Currently, solar power is being installed but a generator is available when needed.  Washing water in the bathrooms contains dissolved minerals which give the water a “soapy feel” and cannot be consumed.  Therefore, fresh drinking water is provided.  The friendly staff prepares a set menu for every meal that consists of meats, fruits, and vegetables mostly grown by local farmers. Any dietary restrictions should be addressed ahead of time as staff will make appropriate accommodation.

A beautiful lounge, bar, and campfire are open to all guests. Tea and coffee are complimentary at all times in the lounge.  Additional services such as laundry, money exchange, telephone, and internet are provided upon request. Escorts from the main lodge to each room are also provided for guests upon request.  Because of its great location, friendly staff, and comfortable accommodation, Ndutu Safari Lodge is visited by repeat guests and reserves up to a year in advance.  Due to migration, the peak season to stay at the lodge is December through April.  Early booking on this mid-level property is strongly advised.
