Nyikani Migration Camp, formerly known as Chaka Camp is a mobile tented camp in the Serengeti National Park. The word ‘Chaka’ comes from the word ‘Kichaka’, which means ‘bush’ in Swahili. The camp, designed to be lightweight enough to move seasonally, is located in the Ndutu area from December 1st to March 31. It then relocates to west Serengeti from May 15 to June 30 and then finally from July 10 to November 15 each year it is located in northern Serengeti, near Kogatende. Nyikani Migration Camps offers 5 double en-suite tents and 3 family en-suite tents, all with its own private verandah. It operates off-the-grid and relies on a custom-built solar system for its power. Room fabrics are handwoven African designs, and the camp’s furniture was commissioned and crafted by artisans in Arusha, Tanzania.
