Marafiki Safari Lodge is in a unique location and has been designed and handcrafted using local materials, fitted by artisans from the local community.
Overlooking Lake George in the Queen Elizabeth National Park it offers private luxury safari tents on raised wooden floors and canvas walls that can be rolled up to allow you to sit comfortably watching the Savannah Plains with breathtaking views across the Park and the Rwenzori Mountains.
We also offer accommodation in four timber cabins that provide comfort and space for a more modest budget.
The lodge has been handcrafted using environmentally friendly local materials fitted by artisans from the surrounding community. We offer spacious private Banda’s with raised wooden floors, constructed from eucalyptus gum poles and canvas, giving you the freedom to roll up the walls and enjoy breath-taking views over the lake and game park.
With an en-suite open-air shower, you can experience a truly perfect African morning, bathing as the sun comes up over the lake, then in the moonlight under the stars, before dining next to the campfire. For the slightly more adventurous we have three luxury furnished Safari Tents complete with park views and for the budget travellers a luxurious timber cabin, which can accommodate 16 people in four spacious dormitory rooms.
Breakfast is served on the veranda of the restaurant, fresh coffee with a full breakfast of seasonal fruits and other fresh local produce. After a long day exploring the park, relax in the bar and lounge area, take in the stunning views whilst enjoying a relaxing meal, and sundowners while the sun drops behind the Rwenzori Mountains.
